Born in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and raised in the House of God Church, Inc., Javares Dunn’s musical journey began very early in life. By the age of 3, JD was a self-taught musician, playing a full drum kit by ear. Continuing to grow musically into his teenage years, he joined the marching band drum line his Junior year of high school. After completing high school, JD moved his talents to Daytona Beach, FL, where he joined forces with the great Bethune-Cookman University Marching Band in 2006.
After graduating with his BA degree in Music Technology, JD relocated to the Middle GA area where he met Angel Ocasio, Jr. through their mutual affliation with the HOGC, Inc. organization in 2009. JD and Angel went on to form a musical brotherhood, working professionally together with various bands and artist such as Vickie Winans, Travis Greene, Micah Stampley, and Ginuwine, to name a few.
JD’s music career took off in 2015 with national recording artist, AJ Ghent. While touring with Ghent, he was afforded the opportunity to travel to several countries in different continents, sharing his God-given gift around the world.
In 2020, JD partnered with longtime friend and bandmate, Angel, to form Cash’s Juke Joint and the story continues to be written.
JD is a proud founding member of the band and, as the band considers him, the heartbeat of Cash’s Juke Joint!
